hair

I'm thinking of cutting my hair. It takes WAY too long to do anything to. AND it gets in my face when I'm sleeping even though I put it in a pony. AND it requires more hair product. AND it's just not summery, AND let's face it - it's been quite warm these past couple of days.
BUT - I like the long pony. I enjoy being able to sweep all of my hair into one simple pony without needing extra aid. AND I enjoy the ease of bangs with long hair....

I realize this post is about nothing really, and it's not significant. Or entertaining. But with all sorts of grown-up decisions to be made (i.e. what to do with my life once I've got that pharmD), it's kind of nice to just stress over the length of my hair and forget about life decisions for a little while...

disneyland

Every February, the California Pharmacists Association (CPhA) holds their annual meeting. This year, it happened to be at DISNEYLAND! Normally, Dave tries to avoid these ultra-pharmacy events, but he couldn't resist the temptation that is Disney. So, we spent the weekend going to the park in between pharmacy meetings and had a BLAST! I always forget how much fun Disneyland is - we need to start going more often :)

So we're not great at taking pictures, but this is one of us on the Disneyland train...even though we could have taken this picture in our back yard and no one would have known the difference. We really need to work on our picture-taking.

welcome nola

This past weekend, my family came from miles around to invade the little island of Lopez in celebration of my grandpa's love for nola ~

Lopez holds a very special place in the heart of my family. Each summer we'd all try to get together for a week or two on the island. Lately, we haven't been able to make the trip all together, so this weekend was like a quick reunion of sorts. We spent our time together remembering our trips over the years. It's amazing how much we've all grown and changed since our last trip. I so wish I had pictures of the last summer we all spent together on Lopez, but unfortunately, those pictures are most likely burried in the "Library of Congress" as Peter F. calls it. Anyway, sorry for the lack of older pictures...

After this trip to Lopez, I'm seriously considering becoming a hippy and moving to the island.

Much Love

So I'm a little late with this post, but I just wanted to share a bit of our Holiday Cheer ~
Finally decorating our poor dry tree with Brad and Dania - it's much more fun decorating with family!

Our first Christmas at home :)

Christmas night, Dave, Brad, Dania and I set off for Washington to celebrate Dania's birthday in Seattle - driving through the snow and rain was well worth it!

What a Merry Christmas!

it's the most wonderful time of the year

I adore this time of year. From the spicy smells of citrus, cinnamon, and trees, to the familiar music and old movies - I can't get enough. For those of you who knew my mom, you understand where I get this love. Every Thanksgiving night we would kick of the Holiday season by watching Miracle on 34th Street (the original black and white), and the next day we would head to Santa's Forest to pick out the perfect Christmas tree. This year, Dave and I continued that tradition. We put a fake tree in our Christmas Tree Window right after Thanksgiving, but we were a little late getting our real tree. I am happy to report that tonight, we visited Santa's Forest and picked out the perfect tree over a cup of hot cider with my grandpa and aunt & uncle. While I am so excited to start decorating our tree, a part of me is so sad. I miss my mom. I miss my grandmas. This time of year is just not the same without them...maybe I'll wait to decorate the real tree until I'm in a more festive mood...
