Family History

My grandpa recently gave me these wonderful old pharmacy bottles from my family's drug store. My great-grandparents started a pharmacy tradition in the early 1900s. My great-grandpa was an apprentice pharmacist, and together with my great-grandmother they opened a pharmacy that would be run by three generations of pharmacists. I am now the fourth generation pharmacist, and while we no longer have the drug store, I have filled my home with pieces of pharmacy history. I realize this style choice is unique, but I love that it is uniquely my family's.

Forever Friends

Dave and I have known Peter and Toni forever. In fact, I can't remember NOT knowing these two. This week we got together to celebrate Peter's birthday, and I was reminded just how lucky we are to have such wonderful friends.
Happy Birthday Peter!

We look forward to many more birthday dinners, Sunday drives, random bbqs, and getaways with these dear friends :)

My baby brother

My baby brother is in Haiti with the USS Carl Vinson. I'm so proud of him and so thankful that his ship was close enough to respond. Please keep all involved in your prayers.

rainy day

It's raining today. And it's glorious.

Sometimes it's so nice to just sit drinking coffee while listening to the rain. The last couple of times it has been raining I've been at work, and rain is not nearly as fun when you have to be productive. Rainy days are meant to be slow days, like today.

I hope you are enjoying your rainy day today, too!
